The Regulation on Part-Time Employment After Maternity or Unpaid Leave (the “Regulation”) was promulgated in the Official Gazette dated November 8, 2016 with No.: 29882. As per the provisions of the Regulation the newly delivered women and those who adopted a child under three (3) years of age may benefit from the part-time employment rights. Accordingly, upon the end of maternity leave the newly delivered women and those who adopted a child under three (3) years of age shall be employed half of the working week (which is forty-five hours) upon their request for sixty (60) days after the first child; hundred and twenty (120) days after the second child; hundred and eighty (180) days after the third child. Hundred and eighty (180) days entitlement remains after the third child and more.

Part-time employment request can be filed until the children reach mandatory education age, which is sixty-six months. Respective employee may chose the hours of work and working days through-out a working week.
