New Requirements for Cheque Books-Newsletter 2016/2, dated November 19, 2016
The Communiqué No.: 2016/6 amending the Communiqué on Form of Printing, Banks’ Payment Liability Amounts Towards the Cheque Bearers, Cheque Issuance and Notification and Announcement of Cheque Account Opening Restrictions (No.: 2012/2) is promulgated in the Official Gazette dated November 19, 2016 No.: 29893. The Communiqué amends Article 2 of the Communiqué No.: 2012/2 as follows:
“Each leaf of a cheque book shall have cheque account number, branch name of the cheque bank, cheque account holder’s name and surname, cheque account holder legal entity’s trade name, real persons’ Republic of Turkey identity number or real entity’s tax number, issuance date of cheque, if exists Central Registry Number of the legal entity, the name and surname of the real person issuing the cheque on behalf of a legal person and should the cheque account holder is different from the issuer proper phrases enabling the issuer to print his/her Republic of Turkey identity number and signature block.”
